The objectives of NSUNGPMAN includes but not limited to these:
- Encourage the production of sunflower in Nigeria and the West African sub-region
- Encourage members to pool resources together to improve production and processing capacity
- Network for international markets
- Protect members against unscrupulous middlemen and unnecessary taxation
- Introduce improve variety and cultural practices
- Research and development
- To liaise with government and the organized private sectors to industrialize the sunflower industry and or sub sector
- Organize retreats, seminars, conferences, summits, training and exhibitions etc.
- International linkages for off-take of the products locally and internationally
